Use of chronicles

Generally, a short chronicle refers to the place and time (dates and time) to place the reader in space and time. Short chronicles are often used in the journalistic field since it is an efficient genre to transmit events objectively.

In other cases, a chronicle may be directed at a small audience, such as a classroom in a school. Due to their easy understanding, the chronicles are often used in children’s stories, narrations for the teaching of a language.

In 2001, at the beginning of classes, María, just 4 years old, had told her mother that she would not go to school. She felt very small and did not want to be separated from her.

She cried all night almost unable to sleep from the anguish for the first day of school. Her mother, a little worried, got up on March 4 a little earlier and prepared a breakfast that Maria loved: toast with butter and goat cheese.

But Maria hardly ate a bite.

At 8 AM they left the house for the school that was 11 blocks from Maria’s house.

But when she got to the door of the school, Maria met her neighbor Rocío.

When she saw Rocío enter the school without any difficulty, María followed her. Together they entered school that first day and every day afterwards until they finished elementary school.

The sinking of the Titanic

On April 15, 1912, one of the greatest nautical tragedies in history took place; the sinking of the Titanic.

This voyage was the maiden voyage of the gleaming Titanic. It should cross the Atlantic Ocean until it reaches the shores of North America in the United States.

However, another would be the destination of the magnificent ship: the night before, on April 14, 1912, around 11:40 p.m., the Titanic collided with a gigantic Iceberg that tore the hull of the ship in such a way that, then Within a few hours, the Titanic sank to the bottom of the sea.

Despite attempts by the crew to radio for help, no ships came to them. Thus without being able to see the dawn (exactly at 02:20 AM) on April 15, the Titanic was already buried at the bottom of the sea.

The tragedy took more than half the population (1,600 people sank with the boat when the total of passengers for that trip was 2,207 people).

The first day of our vacation trip

The bus left at 5 p.m. on February 20 of this year. The next 10 days we would spend in the mountains, in the city of Bariloche, Neuquén province, Argentina.

When we arrived at 12 noon on February 21, we prepared to take the room. After a warm shower we went to the mall for lunch.

We finally found a restaurant that we all liked. We ate there and around 2:00 pm we returned to the hotel to start the first outing of our vacation: the visit to Mount Otto.

We arrived there at 3:00 p.m. and, after the ascent, we visited the museum and the revolving confectionery. Of course we could not avoid having a coffee in the confectionery and observing the magnificent Cerro Tronador (always snowy, always splendid to admire) in the distance.

Later we visit the forest that is located on the side on the same Otto hill.

We managed to take many photographs and, at 7:00 p.m. we decided to return.

Then at the hotel, we change our clothes and set off to visit the mall, do some shopping, and have a seafood dinner.

At around 11 pm we returned to the hotel, tired and wanting to sleep and the next day to start another family adventure.

  1. Chronicle of a fact

Lucia came to my house every morning when we were girls. I remember that there in 1990 we both played in the street from morning until the sun went down.

However, after a few years, Lucia stopped coming to play. Of course, time passed and we were no longer 10 … She and I were already turning 15 by the spring of 1995. It was logical that she no longer came to play as we did before. However, he did not visit me either.

Christmas 1995 he didn’t even call me on the phone. Apparently my friend Lucia was dating a very handsome boy.

The years passed and I regretted his estrangement but other friends came into my life.

However, something was going to happen: on June 17, 2000, at 2:35 p.m., Lucia came to my house like in the old days, except that on this occasion, she was heartbroken since her mother was about to pass away. .

In that moment all my pain and anguish was gone so I could contain his pain. Their distance no longer mattered during these years.

His mother suffered agony for almost 4 months and on October 1, 2000, she died of a fulminant cancer.

Lucia’s pain was immense but she was contained and accompanied by all her loved ones.

Today, 15 years after that event, I can say that Lucía and I are still very close friends as when she came to play in the afternoons in 1990.
